Join us as our presenters Andrew Galvan and Vincent Median offer different opinions on the canonization of Junipero Serra.
The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose Center for Education & Spirituality to host a presentation: Junipero Serra—Saint and Sinner, 10am-2pm, July 25, 2015, Auditorium. Andrew Galvan and Vincent Medina, Jr., are cousins, Ohlone Mission Indians and Catholics who work at Mission Dolores in San Francisco. They trace their ancestors to Ohlone Indians at Mission Dolores and Mission San Jose during the Mission period. Their contrasting views on Junipero Serra have been reported in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Catholic Voice, San Jose Mercury News and SF Weekly.
