Fremont Police Officer Jason Trzewieczynski climbed inside the burning vehicle, and then pulled the man to safety.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police Officer Jason Trzewieczynski is being hailed as a hero after pulling a trapped, dazed man from a burning, overturned vehicle Sunday night. The driver is expected to be fine.

The heroism was captured on cell phone video by Beth Koenig who shared it on Instagram. Koenig wrote, "Tonight I witnessed what the men and women in law enforcement are all about - risking their own lives to save someone else's. This man was speeding in our neighborhood (someone mentioned about 70) when he lost control and slammed into this tree."

She continues that Officer Trzewieczynski "crawled all the way inside the car to do so...only minutes later the entire car was in flames."

Trzewieczynski is a former MMA fighter. He told ABC7, ""Once I got a hold of his hand, I was able to drag him over the seat basically and all the way through three rows and out the back."

The heroic officer crawled inside, even though he knew the consequences could be dire, "About two weeks ago, I was on a car crash. Everybody was out, but the car was engulfed. And right when I showed up, the car exploded. So that was kinda going through my mind."
