High School Student Arrested for Firearm on Campus
FUSD Superintendent thanks FPD & School Resource Officers for their response to May 3 incident at Mission San Jose High School.

A Mission San Jose High School student was arrested by Fremont Police Department on our campus while school was in session on Wednesday, May 3. A weapon (a firearm) was located in this individual's vehicle during a search by law enforcement.
Here is the rest of Fremont Unified School District Superintendent C J Cammack's email to the community:
"The safety of our students, staff and community is our highest priority, and we do not believe there was any active threat to the campus before or during the apprehension.

I have no additional information to share about this incident, which is part of an active Fremont Police Department investigation. FUSD takes these matters very seriously and I can assure you we will assign consequences as appropriate and permissible under the law and related education code.
I extend my gratitude to the Fremont Police Department and School Resource Officers for their response and support to ensure our schools continue to be safe for students and staff.
