Tesla Worker Gunned Down As He Left Factory: Police

The victim was shot with a rifle Monday afternoon, according to police. One arrest was announced Tuesday.

FREMONT, CA — Two Tesla factory workers argued on the job Monday, with one walking off the job, according to Fremont Police. When the remaining worker finished his shift and walked out to his vehicle in the parking lot, he was gunned down with a .223 caliber, short-barrel rifle. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Crime scene investigators recovered several spent .223 rifle casings.

Detectives quickly pieced together the story. The homicide victim, whose name has not been released, died shortly before 3:30 p.m. By about 8:30, the worker who had argued with the dead man was under police surveillance.
