Hunting For A Meal: Photo Of The Week
An egret searches for a meal as a mallard duck looks on.

EAST BAY — Do you love watching birds? You're in good company! More than 46 million Americans label themselves as bird watchers, according to the 2011 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation, a U.S government report.
Patch reader Raj Gopinath shared this photo of an egret, it appears to be a Great White Egret, hunting in Alameda Creek. A mallard duck nearby seems to be supervising. From our own backyards, to nearby creeks and the Bay, bird watching is an easily attainable pastime here in the Bay Area.
Thank you for sharing your photo, Raj!
