Jitterbug Rock! An Exciting Sunday of Swing Dancing!
Fremont Adult and Continuing Education to host a huge vintage swing dance event in August with Hank Biggs and The Hardtops rockabilly band!
This All Day, All Ages vintage swing dancin', rockin' event will be BIG!
Hank Biggs and The Hardtops, vintage '50's rockabilly n' hard rockin' rock n' roll dance band extraordinaires, will be shakin' up the Fremont dance floor with their hard driving, savage rhythms in the early evening!
And while Hank and the boys are on break in between their sets, dee-jay "Do Wop Daddy" Mike Quebec will be spinnin' your hip shakin', toe tappin' vintage rockabilly, do-wop, jump blues, and early rock n' roll platters.
Prior to that however, we'll be havin' a daytime vintage jitterbug swing dance workshop during the afternoon, featuring the flashy, fancy style of jitterbug swing dancing known as the "Dean Collins" or "Smooth Style" Lindy Hop by Do Wop Daddy himself, hepcat swing dancer Mike Quebec.
And for those who like to keep things fun n' simple, we'll have a '50's Bandstand style Jitterbug dance lesson just before Hank n' the boys rock out.
This ain't cutesy "nostalgia", daddy-o, this is vintage rock, done in the true exciting, energetic, and youthful way Rock n' Roll was originally done back in the day!
