July 18-22 Lincoln Douglas Debate Camp for HS Students

In middle school and high Lincoln Douglas debate camp, July 18-22 from 8:50am to 11:50pm students will learn how to structure and argue different cases, as well as how to research evidence to support those cases. They will do in depth explorations of current events and will work on framing arguments in a policy making context. The class will culminate with an in-class mini-debate and speech tournament on Friday July 22, 2016.

Lincoln- Douglas debate format is where one student debating one student. LD is "value" debate which means that the debate focuses on the values explicit or implicit in the resolution being debated.

Also students can register for the afternoon part of a camp, and learn different formats of speech to compete with next school year. the Speech camp is from 1-4pm.
