Man Charged For Fatal Crash That Killed 2 Fremont Children: Report

A San Jose man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter for a collision that killed siblings aged 6 and 11 in September.

FREMONT, CA — A San Jose man has been charged with killing two young siblings from Fremont in Livermore in an alleged drunk driving incident, the Mercury News reports.

Cruz Montano Aldnueda, 55, is charged with vehicular manslaughter for the deaths of Honesty Jenkins, 6, and Damarion Jenkins, 11. He is also charged with two felony drunk driving counts for allegedly injuring the victim’s mother and 8-year-old brother, who both survived.

Montano Aldnueda’s car swerved out of his lane into oncoming traffic on Sept. 5, 2021 on Highway 84 near Old Vallecitos Road, authorities say. Police said Aldnueda’s blood alcohol tested about above the legal limit, and he also tested positive for methamphetamine.
