Man, Dog Escape From Fremont House Fire

The two story home was heavily damaged by the fire and smoke.

FREMONT, CA — A two-story home in Fremont was damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon. No one was injured, although and man and dog escaped through a second story sliding door onto a deck and climbed down stairs to safety.

The man was alerted to the fire by smoke detectors going off and a strong smell of smoke.

The back of the home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The fire was out within 30 minutes of their arrival.
