FREMONT, CA — Police responded to a 911 call on Tuesday and found a shirtless, bloodied man who had been robbed of his cell phone, money and house keys. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for significant injuries. Police tracked down and arrested two people accused in the attack. They are being held on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, felony battery, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
The call was made shortly after midnight. Police found the man in the 500 block of Morrison Canyon Road off Mission Boulevard. As officers made sure that the victim was receiving the medical care he needed, other officers were dispatched to the victim's home, as police suspected those responsible for the beating would try to burglarize it.
The first officer to arrive, Officer Carter, spotted the suspect vehicle with its daylight running lights on. He saw a woman run from the residence and get into the awaiting vehicle which drove toward Carter "causing him to take evasive maneuvers to avoid being hit," according to a police report.
