Fremont March Ends Peacefully Thursday
About 300 people participated in the event. Fremont's curfew is still in effect, even though the countywide curfew has been lifted.

FREMONT, CA — A protest march from Washington High School to the Fremont Police Department Thursday afternoon was peaceful. The crowd was estimated to be about 300.
Meanwhile, Fremont's nightly curfew remains in place from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, even though Alameda County lifted its curfew on Thursday. Fremont's curfew will end Friday.
The march kicked off at 4:30 p.m. and, according to the Fremont Police Department, wrapped up shortly before 7.

Police used rolling street closures along the route to keep marchers safe.

Police had extra staffing in place and offered the following tips for businesses to prepare in advance:

- Limiting access to your property by closing or restricting vehicular driveways
- Ensuring alarm and video systems are in working condition and activated
- Bring in and/or secure equipment, displays, tools, construction materials and other loose items that could be used as a weapon, vandalized or even destroyed
- Boarding up large glass windows
- Essential businesses will need to consider closing early to coincide with the curfew order
