Mission Boulevard Reopens Following Standoff
Two armed men barricaded in a motel room forced the closure of the busy road through the entire Friday afternoon commute.

FREMONT, CA — Two armed suspects who had been barricaded in a motel room on busy Mission Boulevard in Fremont have surrendered to police and are in custody. Mission was closed for several hours, through the entire afternoon commute, but it has finally reopened. The busy road was closed between Pine and Anza streets.
The standoff happened at the Mission Peak Lodge, police say. Mission Peak Lodge is near Ohlone College.
A SWAT Team brought about the peaceful resolution.

Police report that the incident began as a stolen vehicle investigation. Officers made contact with two people associated with the car and one was found to have a loaded firearm. They were both taken into custody. Follow up led officers to Mission Peak Lodge. The two occupants of the room, believed to be armed with multiple weapons, refused to answer the door and barricaded themselves inside leading to the standoff.
The investigation continues.
