Mission Peak Grandeur: Photos Of The Day
"I love looking at the photos posted to Patch and thought I would submit a few of my own."
FREMONT, CA — "I love looking at the photos posted to Patch," Ankit Hathi began in an email to Patch last month, "and thought I would submit a few of my own."
We're so glad you did, Ankit. And we love your narrative of the photos. "I went on a hike to Mission Peak with a few friends after these wonderful rains to see the lush greenery all along the way. At the outset of the hike, it was just us and some cows with the sunrise creating some beautiful purples and blues in the sky. We felt this could easily be a scene from Ireland or Scotland it was so green!
"As we got higher up we had a gorgeous scene of the rolling hills looking eastward with sunbeams shining through the clouds. Approaching the peak, we were nearly alone on the path with green grasses on both sides of us and the clouds clearing up ahead. We decided to take a lesser traveled, and slightly longer path behind Mission Peak. When we finally made it to top we could see a number of hikers getting ready to take their shot atop the rocks with a crisp scene of the city below."
