Mudslide Closes Palomares Road

FREMONT, CA – Palomares Road is closed today to all traffic between Palo Verde Road, Castro Valley, and Niles Canyon Road (Highway 84), Fremont, at mile marker 8.73 due to a major mudslide, according to Alameda County Public Works Department.

This closure blocks all access along Palomares Road between Palo Verde Road, Castro Valley, and Niles Canyon Road (Hwy 84), Fremont.

Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes, officials said.

Residents may access their homes from either Palo Verde Road or Niles Canyon Road, and will not be able to pass through mile marker 8.73, according to authorities.
