Music Bridge Concert at the Fremont Main Library

Saturday July 9th, 2:00. Fremont Main Library presents Music Bridge in an afternoon of music performed by the Fremont based youth ensemble.

The Fremont Main Library presents Music Bridge in an afternoon of music performed by the Fremont based youth ensemble under the direction of Emmy Award Winning composer Vân-Ánh Võ. Music Bridge performs traditional and classical repertoire from Vietnam and all across Asia. They also perform popular songs, from jazz to pop to film scores, making their music accessible for all listeners, young and old.

Music Bridge is led by Fremont resident and internationally recognized musician and composer Vân-Ánh Võ. Vân-Ánh is an Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated multi-instrumentalist and master of the Vietnamese Đàn Tranh, a 16-string plucked zither. Võ explained that “working with Music Bridge members is delightful as they are smart, dedicated, and open-minded kids with big hearts for cultural differences. Even for a professional musician/composer/teacher like me, I often find inspirations from them.”

Music Bridge students will perform on well recognized instruments such as the piano, flute and trumpet as well as incorporate traditional Vietnamese instruments such as the Đàn Tranh. Members of the group have performed at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, The Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco and Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center. With its youth-led model, Music Bridge seeks to grow its artistic and social vision and inspire young musicians throughout the Bay Area. This is a musical treat for all ages, so join us for this musical odyssey, which is free to the public.
