Recently, Juniors Chloe Chan and Max Chou from Mission San Jose High School organized a trip for YIBI students to visit Intel. The students learned about Intel’s history, life at Intel, internship opportunities, and more through special presentations from members of various teams, including engineers from PEG, Corporate Finance, ADG, CCG, SMG Ops, Legal, etc. The students also had a chance to network with some of the employees, as well as college students from UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State University, CSU Fresno, UC Merced, and others. The trip ended with a tour of the Intel museum. YIBI student Connie Wang recounts her experience in her article, "My Intel Experience."

My experience at Intel was a productive, fun, valuable, and memorable one. I learned a lot throughout the presentation and I made connections with the panelists. While they were speaking, I learned about how Intel works as well as why people enjoy working there. During the questions-and-answers portion, I was able to learn about the employees directly and I started networking with them. Throughout the Q&A, I got emails from 2 of the employees and another one later on during the museum tour. When I was asking questions, I began to feel more confident. I felt lucky that I was able to learn in such a professional atmosphere.

While we were inside the museum, I felt a little overwhelmed by the vastness of Intel’s history. It made Intel seem like so much more than just a business and company inside Silicon Valley. I especially appreciate the panelists, who spent their time and effort to help us learn more about jobs, how to gain more experience, and networking. I feel grateful that we had knowledgeable people to give us a valuable experience, as well as an impacting opportunity to speak to professionals.
