Newark Teen Suffers Traumatic Fireworks Injury

NEWARK, CA — An 18-year-old man was transported to a trauma center with injuries to his hand when an illegal firework exploded in Newark on Tuesday night, police said.
A group of citizens on Port Sailwood Drive in Newark flagged down officers at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday to report the incident, according to police.
The man's injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.
