Nimble Warrant Suspect Caught On Fremont Roof Arrested Following Wild Pursuits
BREAKING: Police used a ladder to bring the suspect down from the roof.

FREMONT, CA — A man with multiple felony warrants has been arrested in Fremont this evening, police officials said. Officers tried to stop a car driving in the Irvington area this afternoon at about 4 p.m. Police said the driver refused to stop and officers chased the vehicle onto Fremont Boulevard but eventually terminated the pursuit after losing sight of the suspect.
Police located the suspect vehicle on northbound on I-880 a short time later and chased the suspect again.
“The suspect exited the freeway at Alvarado/Lowry and headed across the freeway towards Union City,” police said in a statement. “The pursuit was terminated when the suspect began driving northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic.”

Police said the suspect crashed into two cars and the driver fled on foot. Officers arrested the female passenger, whose name has not been released. The suspect was discovered atop the roof of a home on Isola Drive.
Police used a fire department ladder to get the suspect to climb down off of the roof. The suspect, who has not been identified, was arrested on suspicion of felony reckless evading, resisting arrest, felony hit-and-run and several felony warrants.

Several Fremont streets were closed during the incident. Union City police and the California Highway Patrol assisted Fremont police.
