Driver In Deadly Pedestrian Crash Is Fremont Woman
The pedestrian was struck in the dark, mid-block, on Paseo Padre Parkway.
FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police report that a pedestrian who died after being hit on Paseo Padre Parkway was a man about 50 years old. His name has not yet been released.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Paseo Padre, mid-block between Walnut and Capitol avenues, in front of the Raley’s Shopping Center.
The driver who struck the man stopped and cooperated with police. Her name has not been released, but police say she is an 18-year-old Fremont woman.

It was reported earlier that the crash happened around 12:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Shawn Decker. However, police have clarified that their initial call came in at 11:50 Sunday night.
Decker also said that the victim died in the ambulance before he could be transported to a hospital.

Police reported shortly before 7 a.m. that Paseo Padre has reopened. It was closed overnight as investigators took measurements and conducted their investigation.
