Pedestrian Killed in Fremont Identified
The driver who hit the woman is still unidentified.

FREMONT, CA - A 52-year-old pedestrian who was fatally struck Saturday night in a hit-and-run in Fremont has been identified as Hayward resident Belinda Cordova, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway near the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Thornton Avenue, police said.
Upon arrival, officers saw citizens were performing CPR on Cordova. She was taken to a hospital where she died, according to police.

Witnesses said an SUV-type vehicle struck Cordova as she was walking in a northbound lane of Fremont Boulevard. The driver then fled, police said. Officers recovered video footage from a nearby business, which indicates the vehicle involved was a 2007 to 2016 light-colored, 2-door Jeep Wrangler with larges tires and a black top.
The Jeep has damage to the fender on the right passenger side, according to police. Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact Officer J. Hartman at jhartman@fremont.gov or at (510) 790-6800, ext. 3.
