Pedestrian Killed On I-880 In Fremont

FREMONT, CA — One person was killed early Wednesday when they were struck by a vehicle on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont.

It happened shortly after midnight near the Mowry Avenue West on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Several lanes were closed for a time until the victim could be removed by the coroner's office and investigators cleared the scene.

Traffic was flowing smoothly by the morning commute.
