Person Shot in Fremont Wednesday

Police say the victim suffered "potentially life-threatening injuries." The SWAT Team is at a home in Fremont.

FREMONT, CA — On person was shot in Fremont Wednesday, suffering what police called, "potentially life-threatening injuries."

Police received reports of the shooting shortly before 11 a.m. in the 5700 block of Lemke Place.

As the victim was taken to the hospital, several people were detained for questioning.

A SWAT team was sent to a residence in the 43000 block of Ellsworth Street as the investigation progressed.

"The residence and surrounding area is secure and there are no threats to the immediate area," police said in a printed statement. "There is no lockdown issued for the area, and officers have made contact with adjacent residents."

Police have requested a search warrant to search the property.

"At this time, we do not believe this shooting to be related to the shooting from last night."
