Report Of Gun At Kaiser Unfounded, Police Say
Union City Police set up a command post and devised a tactical response - it ended well.

UNION CITY, CA — A scare outside the Kaiser Medical Offices at 3555 Whipple Road in Union City turned out to be nothing. Police have given the "all clear."
Union City Police Lt. Doug Calcagno says the department received a call from a Kaiser employee reporting that a man was sitting in a van with a gun. Police set up command center, devised a tactical plan, and safely approached the vehicle. The man was cooperative and was quickly detained.
The "gun" turned out to be a cell phone.

The man was free to go.
Although this turned out to be a false alarm, Lt. Calcagno says the Kaiser employee did the right thing by calling police when they thought they saw something.

Meanwhile, Kaiser reports that it is open for business as usual.
Union City members: a brief lockdown at our #UnionCity medical offices has ended. The lockdown was due to a mistaken report of a weapon. There is no safety concern and all services are available. Thank you for your patience.
