Police: Burglars from Fremont Nabbed With 'Find my iPad' App
Police say they were able to use the technology to track down the suspects in Corte Madera.
SAN RAFAEL, CA- San Rafael police utilized an iPad application last week to track down and arrest a duo suspected of burglarizing a local home, the police department reports.
The arrests were made after officers were dispatched at 12:28 p.m. Thursday on a report of the burglary in which three suspects took computers, a tablet, jewelry and cash from a home in the 200 block of Riviera Drive, according to police.
"When the residents arrived home to meet with the officers they noted that items taken in the burglary included computers, a tablet, jewelry and an undisclosed amount of money," police said in a news release. "The victim was able to use the “Find my iPad” application to track the location of the stolen iPad."

When an officer responded to the location of the "Find my iPad" signal, he saw three suspects in a vehicle in the parking lot of the The Village at Corte Madera shopping center. One of the suspects fled the area but the officer was able to detain Kayla Moss, 21, and Brandon Silvas, 19, police said.
The officer found property in the rear of the vehicle that the victims identified as having been stolen from their home earlier in the day, according to police.

Moss and Silvas, both of Fremont, were arrested for possession of stolen property and burglary and booked into the Marin County jail, police said.
Officers are working to identify the third suspect.
