"We’re incredibly excited to bring Starbird to Fremont and become part of such a vibrant Bay Area community. Northern California is home for Starbird, and as we continue to grow, Fremont felt like a natural next step for us," Starbird CEO Greg Levin said in a statement to Patch. "We’re looking forward to introducing more local guests to Starbird and becoming a go-to spot for the Fremont community."
The first Starbird opened in 2016 with the vision to reinvent the "traditional fast food experience," according to the company's website.

The chain features gluten-friendly breading, handcrafted drinks, plant-based options and 11 house-made sauces.
"Long before we opened our doors, we were obsessed with perfecting our recipe for crispy chicken," the company says online. "We believed that fried chicken hadn’t reached its true potential, too often being heavy, greasy and featuring the same old flavors.
"
The chain was named one of several fast food chains serving the "highest-quality chicken" by TastingTable.
The store already boasts 14 Bay Area locations, and Fremont is No. 15. It also has a handful of locations in Southern California and Colorado.
