Residents Thank Fremont Police For Role In Capturing Accused Man

FREMONT, CA — The allegations are shocking. A Newark man is accused of plotting a series of rapes and had the "plans for and means to kidnap and sexually assault multiple female victims," according to Walnut Creek Police which revealed the plot on Wednesday. A woman in Walnut Creek had been attacked with a stun gun but she fought off her attacker. WPD was quick to thank the Fremont and Newark Police departments for their role in breaking the case.

On social media Wednesday night, Fremont Police said, "Our detectives did a lot of work to assist with this investigation and we are proud of the coordination amongst all agencies involved."

Local residents were quick to express their gratitude to the department and to the detectives whose intelligence and hard work played a key role in capturing the accused man, Matt Owen Caruso of Newark.
