Fremont Road Closures Planned For Parade Of Lights, Tree Lighting

The holidays are back! Plan ahead for these road closures.

FREMONT, CA — After a quiet holiday season in 2020 because of the pandemic, public celebrations are back!

The Niles Festival of Lights Tree Lighting and Parade is planned for Friday.

The City plans street closures to accommodate the festivities.

The police department provided this list of planned street closures from 1 to 10 p.m.:

  • Niles Blvd., between 37831 Niles Blvd near ” J” Street and Hillview in both directions. The intersection of Hillview will remain open for traffic.
  • Iron Horse Lange between “J” Street and “F” Street
  • “D” Street, “E” Street, “F” Street, “G” Street, “H” Street and “I” Street, between Second Street and Niles Blvd
  • Sullivan Underpass
  • Large City parking lot
  • Small City parking lot
  • J Street between Niles Blvd and Second Street will close at the time of the tree lighting at approximately 6:00 p.m. and will remain closed until approximately 10:00 p.m.
  • Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Niles on Niles Blvd. (off Mission Blvd.) after 5:30 p.m. and Niles will only be accessible via Nursery Ave. and Niles Blvd. from the north during the parade.
