Robber Kicks In Front Door Of Fremont Home: Police

FREMONT, CA — An attempted robbery turned into mayhem at a Fremont home on a cul-de-sac when the homeowner confronted the would-be robber. When the first police officer got to the home, the homeowner and suspect were on the floor in a physical confrontation. When the second officer arrived, the first officer was also on the floor trying to subdue the suspect. When it was all over, the suspect had been Tased and booked into Santa Rita Jail.

The crime happened around 12:45 a.m. Friday in the 35900 block of Nicolet Court, according to a police report. The suspect kicked in the front door of the home.

Police officers first used a baton to try to subdue the suspect, finally resorting to the Taser.

The suspect's name was not released. He is described as a 39 year old Fremont transient. He was arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary, vandalism and a probation violation.
