Neighborhood Integrity Advocate Robert Daulton announces his candidacy for the Fremont, District 4 City Council Seat

Robert “Bobby” Daulton is a 16-year resident of the Niles District in Fremont. He has a track record of activism in the community, most recently shown by the successful lawsuit brought against the City of Fremont and Valley Oak Partners LLC (Henkel Property). The developer submitted and was approved on a plan without an Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The plan to develop the property in Niles with a high density development that not only had no relationship to the historic nature of the area but was also on a known toxic site and would have major additional traffic impacts.

A former college professor at San Jose State University and the acclaimed School of the Art Institute of Chicago, earning two Master's degrees. Mr. Daulton is an Eagle Boy Scout and proud father.

Vinnie Bacon, Fremont Vice Mayor, is endorsing Robert. “I’ve seen Robert speak before council meetings many times on behalf of Protect Niles, Niles for Environmentally Safe Trains (NEST), and for other issues directly impacting District 4. He is a dedicated community advocate who utilized a wide network of resources to bring the development of the Henkel site to the legal system for an EIR. I’m proud to endorse him for city council and trust completely that he will serve his district with integrity and courage.”

PROTECT NILES, is also endorsing Robert. “Robert Daulton has been a visible and vocal champion for neighborhoods' rights at City Council & Planning Commission meetings for at least the past 3 years. He has also spoken up about the housing developments built all along Mission Blvd including the more recent plans from Robson Homes, and provided thoughtful alternatives. Robert Daulton is a strong advocate for keeping the Hill Initiative enforced. Robert Daulton leadership in the NEST group - working to make sure Union Pacific Railroad (UP) does not start running more freight trains through Niles Canyon. The tracks run parallel to Mission Blvd which adds even more traffic delays. PROTECT NILES realizes that not everyone in District 4 has had "issues" that have come before the City Council, but we are sure that with the growing traffic, especially on Mission Boulevard and the stance from prior Councils that Mission Blvd is a "state highway" and not their problem does affect us all. We need a strong advocate on the Council, that is Robert Daulton”
