Sig Alert: Deadly Crash Closes Dumbarton Bridge
All lanes are closed following a fiery crash. Drivers should expect the bridge to be closed through the morning commute.

FREMONT, CA — The California Highway Patrol is advising all drivers to use alternate routes as all lanes are blocked on the Dumbarton Bridge following a fatal crash.
The crash happened in the eastbound direction. The CHP later advised that westbound lanes were closed, as well.
At least one person died when he was ejected from an overturned vehicle.

In addition to clearing the crash there is gravel spilled in the roadway that must be cleared.
The CHP received its first report of trouble shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday when a driver reported spinning out after hitting something spilled in the roadway. The driver also witnessed another vehicle spin-out. Both regained control and were able to continue. By 5:41, there was a report of an overturned vehicle on fire.

Eastbound lanes were reported closed just after 6 a.m.
Equipment to clean up the gravel is not expected to arrive at the bridge until at least 8 a.m. Drivers should expect the bridge to be closed through the morning commute.
