Storm Aftermath On Mission Peak: Fremont Photos Of The Day
Swamy Bale shared photos of a hike up Mission Peak with trees along the trail showing exposed roots, and the trail itself showing erosion.

FREMONT, CA — The hike up Mission Peak is a challenge, but one that is gladly undertaken by hundreds of people each week, according to the East Bay Regional Park District which oversees the peak.

Swamy Bale just braved the hike, passing along a series of photos. Swamy said, "Some trees are holding nicely with their roots exposed."

Another photo shows erosion on the trail from rain or snowmelt runoff.

If you would like to attempt a climb to the summit, details are on the park district website. "About five hours are required to reach the summit and return."

Hiking website All Trails calls the hike challenging, so be prepared when you hit the trail.
