Sunset Afterglow: Photo Of The Day

FREMONT, CA — An evening afterglow might just be a sunset's less talked-about cousin.

It's arguably just as pretty as the vibrant, saturated colors of a sunset, if not more.

Kathleen Allen captured that afterglow this past weekend. The soft pink and purple streaks in this photo feel almost painted on. The colors are radiant, yet peaceful.

"I took this picture from my backyard Saturday at sunset," Allen told Patch. "It was a pretty spectacular sky that night!"
