Suspect in Stolen Vehicle Leads Cops on High-Speed Chase on I-880, Hwy 237
BREAKING: The person driving eluded officers and remains at large, Fremont police said.

FREMONT, CA – Two suspects who fled police in a high-speed pursuit Monday night in Fremont remain at large, police said today.
Officers spotted the vehicle at 9:44 p.m. as they were investigating an unrelated incident on Dewey Place.
They called for help and tried to stop the driver at Stevenson Boulevard and Blacow Road but he or she sped away, according to police.

Police pursued the vehicle on city streets and onto southbound Interstate Highway 880 at high speeds.
The driver went onto eastbound state Highway 237 and onto North First Street toward the Montague Expressway when police ended their pursuit because the suspects were driving at high speeds on city streets.

The pursuit last nine minutes and covered 16 miles, according to police.
Officers recognized the vehicle because it was the subject in a recent briefing. The stolen vehicle had license plates from another vehicle on it.
