Suspicious Death Investigation Underway By Fremont Police

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police detectives are investigating a suspicious death, they reported Thursday. The death appears to be the result of a fight that happened Sunday. The man's name is not immediately available.

The first indication of trouble was a medical call by the Fremont Fire Department Sunday evening. A man was found to be unresponsive in the patio area of a coffee shop on Niles Boulevard. He was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital.

Fremont Police were notified on Monday that the man’s condition was grave and that he was suffering from major injuries.

As of Wednesday, the man had been declared dead by doctors, although he remained in the hospital.
