Tesla Model 3 Unveiled As Fremont Plant Prepares For Orders
The Tesla plant in Fremont has been preparing for an onslaught of orders which are already pouring in.
FREMONT, CA - Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the long-anticipated Model 3 Thursday night in Hawthorne, in Southern California. Here are the details:
Price: $35,000
Range: At least 215 miles per charge
Safety: 5-star safety rating in every category
Speed: 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds
The company began accepting pre-orders for the Model 3 on Thursday, with long lines reported in the US and Europe.

Online orders began one hour before the unveiling. In his remarks Thursday night, Musk announced that 115,000 pre-orders have already been taken.
Here in Fremont, Tesla’s assembly plant will be tasked with delivering the cars. The company has been ramping up for production.
New workers, robots and systems are in place, and hundreds of job openings are currently posted.
