THRIVE Solar Booth at the 2015 Fremont Arts & Wine Festival

Learn about THRIVE Solar's fundraisers, charity, and its useful solar-powered lighting products at the Fremont Arts & Wine Festival

August 1-2, 2015 --- The Fremont-based THRIVE Solar Energy Corporation will be present at the 32nd Annual Fremont Arts & Wine Festival. Visit their promotional booth to learn about its high-quality, affordable solar lighting products - great for emergency kits and camping. The portable solar lights can be customized with an organization’s logo for fundraising purposes. Profits from the sale of the solar lighting devices help sustain the socially-minded manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, India, which employs women and provides local jobs for the poor. You can read about that in the Borgen Magazine.

The THRIVE Solar Lights are sourced from a socially-responsible enterprise that has non-profit roots. THRIVE first formed in 2001 as an NGO tackling the problem in India of 130 million children and their families depending on hazardous kerosene lamps for studying in the dark. THRIVE derives its name from a jumbled acronym standing for Volunteers for Rural Health Education and Information Technology. It now sells millions of its solar lights in over 15 countries and has been recognized by the World Bank and IFC for its contributions.

The all-solar-powered factory in Hyderabad fits Fremont’s solar-values. Fremont is a trending global headquarter for solar companies, such as THRIVE Solar Energy which has an R&D office in Fremont.

Visit the THRIVE booth to learn about its charitable arm, the One Child One Light Foundation, which donates solar reading lamps to poor children in developing countries. The solar lamps give the needy children a safer and greener alternative to study into the night over the traditional kerosene lamps and candles used in the past.
