Pedestrian Killed In Fremont Crosswalk

Southbound Fremont Blvd was closed for several hours between Mowry and Capitol Ave.

FREMONT, CA — A pedestrian in a crosswalk was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fremont Wednesday morning. It happened on Fremont Boulevard at the intersection of Capitol Avenue.

Fremont Police received the report just after 7:30 a.m. When they arrived, they provided field medical care to a female pedestrian, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was in the south crosswalk near the west curb line of Fremont Boulevard when a vehicle collided with her. The male driver was making a right turn from the Hub Shopping Center to travel south on Fremont Boulevard.
