Train Strikes Vehicle In Fremont: Police

A freight train in Fremont struck an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on the tracks, spurring traffic delays.

FREMONT, CA — A westbound freight train crashed into a vehicle early Monday morning in Fremont at Dusterberry Way. The vehicle was unoccupied and left parked on the tracks, officials said.

The collision prompted police to detour traffic from the area for two hours, the Fremont Police Department reported in a 2 a.m. news release.

No injuries were reported and the roadway reopened to traffic.
