Transient Arrested Following Arson Investigation
Four fires were set over a 2 day period, but firefighters put out the flames before they did any harm.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police arrested 40-year-old Zabihullah Rahimi, a transient, following a series of 3 fires on July 8 and another on July 9. He is being held at Santa Rita Jail on arson and probation violation charges. He's previously been arrested for arson, resisting arrest, vandalism, and violating stay away orders.
According to Fremont Police, there were 3 fires set on July 8 in open fields and a business dumpster. Firefighters put out the fires before any damage was done to property.
Arson Detectives located surveillance video of the suspect. He was arrested following the
July 9 fire, near the Brookvale shopping center.

On July 14, Rahimi was arraigned at the East County Hall of Justice. He is being in jail pending his next court date in August.
