Troop 176: Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

Boy Scout's Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

Every year the Boy Scouts of Troop 176 of the Mission Peak District come together to serve breakfast to about 250 people. They serve pancakes, eggs, hash browns, sausages, tea, coffee, and juice. The parent committee helps the scouts to organize the event. Parents take jobs in the kitchen while eager scouts serve food to a crowd of hungry visitors. The funds go directly to the troop to pay for badges, outings, food on camping trips, equipment, and to pay for the scouts who are unable to attend a camp. In the past, Troop 176 organized silent auctions, flea markets, and other fund raising events. The whole breakfast takes about four months to organize. Individual tickets are $7. Family tickets (four people) are $24. To purchase the tickets, please call (510) 928-7837.

Anyone interested in joining scouts can talk to one of the adult leaders during weekly Monday meetings at Centerville Presbyterian Church, 4360 Central Ave, Fremont. For more information about Scouting within the San Francisco Bay Area Council, visit www.sfbac.org.
