UPDATE: All Lanes Reopened Near Fatal Crash on I-680 in Fremont

All lanes have reopened on Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont where a fatal collision occurred this evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision on southbound Highway 280 near the Mission Boulevard off-ramp and state Highway 262 shortly before 5 p.m., CHP officials said.
The Sig-alert was issued at 5:18 p.m. closing all lanes except the carpool lane, according to the CHP. Two left lanes reopened about an hour later and the remaining four lanes reopened shortly after 8:30 p.m., CHP officials said. Investigators and the Alameda County coroner’s bureau responded to the scene, according to the CHP.
