Union Pacific Plans Night-Time Construction In Fremont
From Tuesday until Sunday, crews will perform railroad maintenance in the Niles and Centerville areas from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
FREMONT, CA — Union Pacific Railroad is planning night-time railroad maintenance work in Fremont from Tuesday through Sunday, the City of Fremont announced.
The work will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night in the areas around Niles Boulevard and the Centerville District, as part of a larger railroad maintenance and safety improvement program in Fremont, Union City, Oakland, San Leandro, and Hayward.
Construction noise impacts are expected to be minor for residents within 300 feet of the railway corridor, the city said. Night-time work is required to minimize impacts to local traffic and passenger rail services.
The crew works 7 days on and 7 days off, so if the work is not completed by Sunday, March 14, crews will start again on Tuesday, March 22.
