Vibrant Epiphyllum Bursts Into Glorious Bloom: Photo Of The Day

The ephemeral flower will only last one or two days.

FREMONT, CA — Jim Erickson shared this photo of an epiphyllum in bloom. He told Patch that the photo does not do the flower justice — the blossom is over 9 inches across and the colors are more intense than the photo indicates.

Epiphyllum are a member of the cactus family native to Central and South America.

Jim said that the blossom will only last 2 days.
