Violation Notices Keep Racking Up At Fremont Tesla Facility: Report

The violations include unauthorized construction, according to a report from SFGate.

FREMONT, CA — The Tesla factory in Fremont was hit with 17 violations on Friday, bringing this year's tally to 45, according to a report from SFGate.

The violations, which SFGate found through public records, include unauthorized construction and operations and noncompliance with federal regulatory requirements, according to the report.

Over the last five years, Tesla has been issued 369 notices of violations, most of them from the Fremont facility, according to the report.

Tesla is ranked No. 8 among the most fined polluters in the Bay Area in the last decade, according to a report from Berkeleyside.

During this period, Tesla has paid just over half a million dollars in penalties, trailing behind companies such as Martinez Refining Company and Air Liquide Large Industries in Rodeo.

Valero in Benicia leads all companies, having been fined more than $81 million during the same time, according to Berkeleyside.

Further details about the Tesla violations were not clear.

The Fremont Tesla facility, however, is currently going through a transition period. Tesla officials announced earlier this year that the facility would transition from building Model X and S vehicles to making a million AI humanoid robots each year.

The announcement came as the company endures a steep drop in income and shifts gears to focus on AI projects such as robots and robotaxis.
