FREMONT — It will take at least a few more hours to reopen the westbound Dumbarton Bridge after a box truck caught fire on the span near the start of the Monday morning commute, the California Highway Patrol said.
A tow truck is making its way to the scene, on westbound Highway 84 just past the toll plaza, but it's slow going to due to backed-up traffic, the CHP said about 9:30 a.m.
The truck may have hit a guardrail before catching fire about 6:30 a.m., according to the CHP. The driver suffered minor injuries, but no other injuries were reported.
