What is LIFE about?
Learn about simple programs for homebound seniors. Meals on Wheels, VIP Rides, Friendly Visitors, Fall Prevention.
LIFE – LIFE ElderCare that is – is about making life just a little bit (or a lot!) easier for homebound seniors. Whether it’s a daily meal, a ride to the dentist, a chat with a friendly visitor, or some exercises to improve balance, we are proud to bring some happiness and health to seniors. Our programs (Meals on Wheels, VIP Rides, Friendly Visitors, and Fall Prevention) are simple, yet vital, and we know they work because our seniors tell us:
“Everyone is so helpful. The volunteers, the staff, everyone I’ve talked to. As you get older, you really appreciate that because sometimes people think old people are invisible.”
“It became a struggle to prepare my own meals – it was hard to stand for so long to mix or chop, and the pans were heavy I was afraid to drop them. But it’s so easy to get Meals on Wheels. I wish I had called them sooner.”
“Without VIP Rides, I would have a lot of problems going to doctors, dentists, food shopping, or other errands. I suppose I could ask a friend to drive me, but they wouldn’t be a friend for long! This program is just wonderful, and I am so grateful I heard about VIP Rides.”
Join us at LIFE in Action on Friday, September 15 and learn more about LIFE. This free open house is a chance to learn more about how anyone can help our neighborhood seniors. Plus, you can get a close-up look at how the spokes actually turn in Meals on Wheels, meet some great people, and hear about our other important offerings.
Know a senior? Want to help a senior? Just curious? Everyone is welcome to attend.
