SUNOL, CA — Within minutes of announcing a wildfire Tuesday close to Highway 84 and Little Valley Road near Sunol, Cal Fire had halted forward progress of the blaze and canceled air operations. At first, it was believed that the fire had burned approximately 30 acres. However, that has been scaled back to 12 acres.

There are no reports of injuries or damaged structures.

The fire comes just hours before a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff by PG&E due to high winds and wildfire risk.
