World Pizza Champion To Open Restaurant In Fremont

FREMONT, CA — A 13-time world pizza champion is bringing a little slice of heaven to Fremont this fall.

Tony Gemignani is partnering with longtime friend and fellow Washington High School alumnus Pritika Rajasanshi to bring a "Slice House" to Fremont.

"It’s incredibly special to be bringing Slice House to my hometown of Fremont," Gemignani, who grew up on an apricot and cherry orchard farm in Fremont, said. "Together, we’re excited to share the craft and flavors of Slice House with neighbors, friends, and fellow pizza lovers, and to celebrate this milestone with a town that shaped us both."

The new location will feature an "expansive menu" with New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit-style pizzas.

The menu will also have wings, salads, craft beers and wines. There are also options for people with dietary restrictions and non-alcoholic beer, according to Slice House.

Gemignani is a renowned, award-winning professional pizza maker. His flagship restaurant, Tony's Pizza Napoletana, was ranked the No. 2 pizzeria in the country this year by 50 Top Pizza USA.

Gemignani and Rajasanshi previously opened a Slice House location together in Mountain View, an experience the latter said showed him "the passion and craft behind every Slice House."

"This restaurant is all about creating a welcoming space where friends and families can come together, share world-class pizza, and make lasting memories, which will be a welcome addition to Fremont," Rajasanshi said. "The wait is almost over!"

Slice House will open in the Pacific Commons Shopping Center in September.
