Update: Adams Fire in Fresno County hits full containment by Sunday evening (modbee.com) — Fire crews have fully contained the 45-acre Adams Fire that broke out Sunday afternoon near West Adams Avenue and South Derrick Avenue, south of Mendota in Fresno County. Officials explain that 100% containment means control lines now surround the blaze, limiting its spread, though hot spots may still burn while investigators work to determine the cause.
3. Suspect wanted for shooting Fresno Police officer shot himself, police say (yourcentralvalley.com) — Fresno police say the man accused of shooting an officer late Saturday was found Sunday in a home near Bardell and Vine avenues with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and taken to the hospital. Officers had been searching for 56-year-old Paul Rodriguez Cisneros after the shooting near Jensen Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, while the injured officer is now home recovering.
4. Fresno Tops San Jose in Best Summer Travel Destinations (thesheffieldpress.com) — Fresno just beat out San Jose in WalletHub’s 2024 rankings of the best U.S. summer travel destinations, highlighting the city’s growing appeal. Investigators are still determining what led to the crash, while legal experts highlight how families can seek answers and potential wrongful death claims after serious pedestrian collisions in California.
