Smithsonian selects Fresno to host major culture festival (yourcentralvalley.com) — A major three-day folklife festival is coming to downtown Fresno Oct. 2–4, celebrating the Central Valley's cultural diversity with free music, dance, Native traditions, food, and storytelling. Selected as part of a Smithsonian initiative, the Great Valley Gathering will kick off at Courthouse Park and feature local talent, including Fresno hip-hop artist Fashawn.
   

2. Fresno officials present fiscal analysis for proposed South SEDA development (abc30.com) — Fresno officials just unveiled a detailed fiscal analysis of the massive South SEDA development, projecting a $17.2 million surplus for the city's general fund. City leaders tout it as smart, phased growth, while some residents question the assumptions and housing density. The council hasn't voted yet, so future decisions could shape infrastructure, services, and new housing in southeast Fresno.
   

3. Investor who offered home for AI stock buys $6.9M Fresno portfolio (thebusinessjournal.com) — A Bay Area investor has bought the five-building West Sussex industrial portfolio in Fresno for $6.9 million, marking his first move into the local market. The 73,911-square-foot complex, sold by a longtime Fresno-area owner, will see value-add improvements. The deal highlights outside investor interest in Fresno's small-bay industrial sector and could influence future leasing and property upgrades nearby.
   

4. Update: Frank Fire burns 17 acres in Fresno County (fresnobee.com) — A new wildfire dubbed the Frank Fire has burned 17 acres near E. Kings Canyon Road and S. Zumwalt in Fresno County after starting Thursday evening. Cal Fire's Fresno-Kings Unit is responding, but officials haven't yet released details on containment or cause. Residents in the area should stay alert for further updates and possible changes in fire activity.
   

5. Fresno OnlyFans spending estimated at $11.7 million (thebusinessjournal.com) — New estimates suggest Fresno accounts for about $11.68 million in OnlyFans spending, ranking 72nd worldwide by total volume and 40th on a per-adult basis. Fresno County's estimated $13.66 million leads a five-county Central Valley total of $29.26 million. The figures come from a model using Google search data and platform revenue, not individual transaction records.
